Director, Business Development / Renewable Energy (Solar) At Catalyze, we’re on a mission to accelerate the nationwide transition to clean, renewable energy. We are seeking a Director, Business Development with expertise in the commercial & industrial renewable energy market to connect with key business executives and stakeholders; develop long-term, collaborative relationships with prospects and clients; oversee a portfolio of clients; cultivate new business from existing clients and actively seek new partnership opportunities; and liaise with cross-functional internal teams to improve the client experience. This position may require occasional travel. You Are: Looking to join a close-knit team dedicated to developing long-term partnerships with commercial real estate owners to bring solar energy to their portfolio of properties A professional with a strong work ethic and the desire and skills to contribute to our culture of change and progress who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, analytically-driven work environment An avid learner, curious and often self-taught, eager to expand your skill set and explore, evaluate, and apply new ideas and approaches Adept at balancing and prioritizing competing and shifting priorities—you manage your time well and are good at communicating timelines and voicing concerns An open-minded and articulate communicator—you strive to build strong relationships with your colleagues, and give and receive feedback based on mutual respect An exceptional problem solver and collaborator You Will: Serve as the primary point of contact and build long-term relationships with clients based on integrity, trust, respect, and collaboration Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, client stakeholders, codevelopment partners, and executive sponsors Identify, grow, and close opportunities in emerging and existing markets Communicate with clients to understand their needs and articulate product value Act as a client advocate with a focus on improving the client experience Drive the negotiation of contracts and agreements to optimize strategic objectives and profit Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to client needs Liaise between clients and internal teams to onboard and integrate new clients Forecast and track key account metrics in Catalyze’s proprietary Salesforce-based platform Prepare reports on account status; clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders Help clients through email, phone, online presentations, screen-share and in person meetings Update industry and job knowledge, and identify and track industry trends by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; and maintaining personal networks Take ownership of everything you work on and be responsible for the thoroughness and quality of everything you create What You Bring to the Team: 10+ years of experience in sales and/or account management 7+ years of experience in renewable energy; solar and energy storage highly preferred Understanding of industry trends and developing new markets Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, communications, or related field highly preferred Professional sales training (Sandler Sales Institute, Dale Carnegie or similar) a plus Demonstrated ability to credibly and effectively communicate with, present to, and influence all organizational levels, including executive and C-level Experience identifying and delivering client-focused solutions Exceptional time and project management skills, including managing multiple projects simultaneously while paying keen attention to detail and adhering to deadlines Self-motivation and demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-growth, results-driven environment High emotional intelligence; exceptional verbal and written communication and active listening skills Success building rapport and collaborating with others internally and externally Critical thinking, problem solving, and data analysis skills Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and deal closing skills Commitment to quality and continuous improvement of processes Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite & Apps (particularly Excel and PowerPoint or Google Sheets and Slides) as well as CRM software (Salesforce preferred) What Catalyze Brings to You: Opportunity to play a significant role in transforming the energy industry Growth and development A flexible environment where your voice, thoughts, and ideas will be heard Excellent benefits (company-paid and voluntary): Health / Dental / Vision / Life / AD&D / STD / LTD / AFLAC / Pet / Legal / Commuter / 401(k) with Company Match / Paid Time Off and more!
