We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Credit Risk I to join our General Corporate Credit Risk t eam. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA – HYBRID model (3 days/week in office).
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Writing, preparing and/or reviewing analyses of creditworthiness of a diverse array of large institutional corporate borrowers/counterparties, and financings such as syndicated loans and markets credit transactions. Sectors include manufacturing, telecom/media/tech, oil & gas, retail, etc.
Writeups cover purpose of financing, sources of repayment, and quality of collateral (if any) in response to requests for credit from Institutional Lending (first line of defense, “1LOD”) or lines of business.
Monitoring news of assigned borrowers, may involve recommendations on re-ratings of internal borrower credit ratings, reviewing financial statements, earnings reports, rating agency/analyst/industry reports.
Assisting with risk management efforts for the General Corporate credit risk group (second line of defense, “2LOD”), such as Credit Analysis & Approval and Portfolio Management. Helping with the development of documentation and reporting as needed.
Working closely with two senior credit relationship managers, portfolio management, 1LOD/client executives, and with analyst teams
Helping to identify existing and emerging risks that are applicable to the assigned credit risk portfolio given industry trends, economic conditions, current events, etc.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor’s degree or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Strong writing and credit analysis skills required.
5-7 years of total work experience preferred. Prior experience/background in credit risk preferred.
Formal credit training preferred.
Experience with borrower rating systems and tracking methodologies, and basic knowledge of fiscal and financial condition indicators preferred. Experience as an underwriter and familiarity with credit administration systems typically used by financial institutions preferred.
