Description

The purpose of this class is to support, implement, and design services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise.
Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, deploys, manages and serves as primary expert for the multi-forest Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Creates and manages directory infrastructure, including FSMO rules, trusts, and replication technology.
  • Manages forests and domains including planning and designing Organization Units (OUs).
  • Configures and manages Active Directory sites, subnets, and global catalog.
  • Manages, migrates, upgrades, demotes and decommissions domain controllers.
  • Manages, supports and troubleshoots DNS services.
  • Oversees, manages and troubleshoots Active Directory authentication and LDAP configuration.
  • Seeks and recommends improvements on existing Active Directory and Exchange architecture.
  • Administers and troubleshoots Group Policy.
  • Creates and executes Powershell scripts to configure objects and Group Policy.
  • Utilizing the Change Management process, applies changes and upgrades to the Active Directory environment.
  • Ensures overall security of the Active Directory domains.
  • Develops comprehensive test cases to include scenarios for normal and degraded operations.
  • Coordinates within functional and cross-functional teams to apply expertise in solving problems, growing capabilities and driving initiatives.
  • Provides best practice advice and guidance to management and across the enterprise.
  • Participates in disaster planning, preparation, recovery, and testing as required.
  • Troubleshoots issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
  • Provides after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related major, or equivalent experience.
  • Requires four years of experience providing design, management and support in Microsoft Active Directory or closely related experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of functional level Windows 2012 and later Active Directory.
  • Expertise in DNS and DHCP.
  • Expert-level experience in the management and creation of Group Policy.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

  • MCSE preferred.
