**Job Description**
-The Director of Quality is a member of the Leadership Team with primary responsibility for providing leadership, planning and oversight of activities of the Quality organization in support of business objectives.
-The Director of Quality is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and quality products are developed and delivered to customers across multiple sites.
-They ensure policies, procedures and practices are consistent and compliant with US and international regulatory requirements to attain and sustain commitments to our customers.
-In addition they have oversight and responsibility for implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
-Own the development, implementation, and oversight of an effective Quality program that operates in compliance with corporate quality policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Scope includes quality for the OEM production, service center and supplier quality needs of the business.
-Leads team in the development and management of stable quality and manufacturing processes that are safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible by utilizing AS9100D, APQP, Lean Six Sigma, QRQC and other industry best practices.
-Responsible for data integrity and process conformance to AS9100D, FAA, EASA, CAAC, Part 21, Part 145, regulatory, and other customer requirements.
-Leads and/or performs root cause and corrective/preventative action analysis as required.
-Creates annual quality goals and leads improvement strategies to achieve those goals
-Champions a culture of inclusion and accountability by leveraging Quality Team in the development and troubleshooting of stable manufacturing processes.
-Participates in program reviews, design reviews, where appropriate as the Quality process technical expert.
-Interfaces with external customers on quality topics, and is seen by their internal customers and peers as the accountable leader on all topics related to Quality
-Communicates organization’s vision effectively in verbal, written, and presentation form. Develops goals from both short-term objectives and business’s long term Strategic Plan for the Quality Department.
**Complementary Description**
-Administers material review activities on business and/or supplier products.
-Maintains and administers an effective internal evaluation and audit program for Safran to ensure conformance to Industry, contractual, business processes and product requirements.
-Analyzes root causes of deficiencies and ensures proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
-Leads and participates in cross-functional team efforts to improve business or supplier products and processes.
-Develops and leads cost effective strategies across business that results in an ongoing significant improvement to Safran products and processes.
-Identifies need for and delivers training materials to business related to the Quality Management System.
-Mentors the Quality and greater organization on the Quality Management System.
-Analyzes customer/industry/regulatory specifications and ensures compliance of products and processes. Leads initiatives to attain/maintain applicable global regulatory and quality standards certifications.
-Develops and maintains a working relationship with key customer organizations to the benefit of the customer and business.
-Ensures business and supplier products shipped to customers meet applicable business unit, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

**Job Requirements**
Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in appropriate technical discipline and 8 or more years’ experience
-Experience in a leadership capacity with direct reports
-This position requires use of information or access to hardware, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. green card holder), political asylee or refugee
-Possess a comprehensive knowledge of FAR Part 145 and associated guidance materials, Part 43, Part 91, Part 121 and Part 135 as these parts apply to work accomplished under business certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Prior Quality and/or Supplier Quality experience
-Advanced degree, MBA
-ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr)
Skills and Abilities
-There is a large travel element to this role and as such you should hold a full driving license, and current passport and have a willingness to travel to all continents (sometimes) at short notice.
-Experience managing and developing multiple direct reports
-Experience with problem solving methodology such as A3 and 8D
-Experience leading complex projects with remote team members
-Knowledge of manufacturing structures, varied processes, operating practices, and operating budgets.
-Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
-AS9100, ISO9001, Mil-Std working knowledge
-Experience with international business
-Ability to work with a wide range of people for process improvements and corrective actions
-Capacity to work independently and within team environments
