Director of Space Management and Planning will be responsible for oversight and management of facilities within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences which currently occupies 7 facilities. The incumbent will be the primary point of contact for all SHRS’ spaces, including contract management, improvement and maintenance projects, occupancy, and assessment of new development or relocation opportunities. The incumbent will lead efforts and collaborations for the build out, relocation, and consolidation of three of our current facilities into the new university building located at Fifth & Halket.
Preferred experiences include project design; planning; office management/operations; client service; and collaboration on with multiple offices, leaders, contractors, and/or suppliers. The incumbent would be responsible for oversight of team members, setting deadlines, designating assignments, and monitoring project progress. A skillful Director of Space Management and Planning will need to possess management capabilities that allow for focused delivery of expectations in the cross-departmental coordination arena.
Job Summary
Oversees all aspects of planning, design, and execution of large or complex projects. Assists in developing timelines and ensures adherence to deadlines. Manages financial aspects of projects and other administrative duties. Handles external correspondence and drafts reports and other communications.
Essential Functions

- Coordinate and lead planning sessions for project development
- Manage resource needs to maximize potential for successful execution of projects
- Define project objectives and scope, identifying involvement of internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct risk analysis to reduce unforeseen obstacles and costs
- Develop detailed schedule, project parameters, and budget expectations
- Conduct periodic scope and schedule review, to identify needed adjustments
- Manage client and other stakeholder expectations to maintain productive and engaged relationships
- Document project activities, obstacles, and results
- Provide summarized project plan documentation to Dean and Vice Dean and other stakeholders as needed
- Engage in continual learning to remain abreast of new technologies, and emerging standards
- Execute other role duties as assigned
