**Description**
The Hotel Director has full responsibility for day-to-day hotel operations onboard the vessel. He/she will be responsible for ensuring all outlets achieve the highest standard of quality service that the company is aiming for, and to stay in full compliance of company policy and procedures.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
* Inspect guest rooms, public areas for cleanliness and appearance
* Greet passengers and crew and maintain an active presence throughout the vessel
* Effectively facilitate problem resolution
* Monitor the revenue activity of the hotel
* Train staff members
* Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to all company and regulatory policies and procedures
* Coordinate vessel activities
* Delegate appropriate responsibilities, coordinate and oversee hotel interdepartmental workload allocation/distribution
* Participate in financial activities such as establishing budgets and capital expenses and allocation of funds to departments
* Foster and facilitate interdepartmental collaboration and communications
* Drive and manage special projects as required
* Keep VP of Hotel Operations closely informed; especially of issues which may require deviation from itinerary or which may negatively impact customer service
* Participate and ensure participation of all USCG mandated drills and emergency procedures as directed
* Ensure behavior and performance supports the companys Mission; promotes year-round success of system
* Follow company values in responding to others in work situations
* Meet standards for service behaviors
* Use recovery steps to respond to others who are dissatisfied
* Make hospitality standards an important part of day-to-day duties
* Be a RESPECT System example for others; sets example for values during times when there is conflict and stress
* Trains and completes certification for RESPECT system of existing and new employees within 7 days of hiring
* Holds all employees and leaders equally accountable to meet technical, employee and leader standards
* Actively participates in embarking duties such as loading, unloading, luggage carrying, etc., as needed
* Performs other duties if required since above stated describe only a regular working day and may not be inclusive of every task needed to achieve results
* Promotes RESPECT system: reinforces performance at or above standards and coaches performance below standard; solicits feedback; takes action to continuously improve success of team
**Minimum Qualifications & Requirements**
**Education:**
+ HS Diploma Required, or Equivalent
+ Bachelors degree required in Business and/or Hospitality Management
**Professional Certification(s) or License:**
+ Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) if applicable, and/or ability to obtain and maintain
+ Copy of DD214, if Veteran status
**Skills & Abilities:**
+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills
**Experience:**
+ 10 years full service operations
+ Experienced in supervision & training of employees
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities with varying deadlines
+ Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
+ Cruise industry experience preferred
+ Food & Beverage experience managing multiple venues with restaurants and bars
+ Hotel banquet or catering experience preferred
+ Experience in fine dining
**Physical:**
* Must submit to and pass mandated USCG physical
* Ability to meet and maintain the maximum onboard bunk bed capacity of 300 lbs.
* Ability to conduct work in a marine environment that is subject to some/all the following: confined spaces, uneven surfaces, variations in temperature, wake, and motion
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to climb stairs and ladders
**Other:**
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing.
