About the Role
The Chief Compliance Officer is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the effective and efficient management of the district’s budget, operations, human resources services, and related departments. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, business, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a social service or compliance-related role. Experience in leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in schools or related organizations is also highly valued. The Chief Compliance Officer will be tasked with developing, initiating, maintaining, and revising financial, operations and risk assessment plans to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, as well as preventing illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Collaborating with agencies, analyzing data, and producing performance reports for district leadership and stakeholders are also essential duties.
In addition to the above, the Chief Compliance Officer will be expected to collaborate with Human Resources and related departments to address compliance issues, support the superintendent in district communications, and monitor compliance activities and HR training. The role involves a strong commitment to the district’s equity initiatives, including supporting staff development and training related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in K-12 education and the workplace. The officer will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining an internal reporting system, gathering and analyzing data for statistical reporting, and ensuring equal opportunity access. The position requires a strategic approach to compliance, including incident prevention efforts, and the ability to make recommendations to the Superintendent. The successful candidate will be a resource for discrimination, harassment, and Title IX issues, and will be involved in setting strategic vision for employee relations and culture initiatives.
