Zero Motorcycles is a leading manufacturer of light electric vehicles, specializing in high-performance electric motorcycles. We’re at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and quality. With a recent SAP/ERP implementation, we’re looking for a strategic and experienced Vice President of IT to lead our technology operations and align them with our business goals.
Summary of Position :
The Vice President of IT will oversee Zero Motorcycles’ information technology infrastructure, technology functions, systems, and strategy. This role requires deep knowledge of SAP/ERP systems and a strong background in IT management, especially in manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, effective communicator, and team leader who can drive technology initiatives to support business operations and growth. You will lead a team of IT managers, technicians, third-party developers, and other IT contractors to manage the company’s information technology operations and implement new systems and policies to facilitate rapid corporate growth.
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, prior experience in the IT organization of a manufacturing and sourcing company, and be able to manage and motivate people. You will use your technical background and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally to assess and fulfill Zero Motorcycles’ information technology needs. Your goal is to ensure that all IT systems and the people deploying and using them are working effectively, securely, and within budget limits.
A major focus of your role will be to lead various IT projects related to our recent and ongoing SAP implementation (SAP 4/HANA, IBP, SAP Business Network, DM, and PLM) including implementing the processes needed to stabilize and support the rapid evolution of the company. Working with SAP, software service providers, consultants, and internal champions, you will guide the optimization of these systems to support our rapidly changing business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the IT strategy to support Zero Motorcycles’ business objectives, including manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and customer service. Collaborate with senior-level stakeholders across the organization to identify business, process, and technology needs and align our use of information technology.
ERP/SAP Management: Lead the ongoing management and optimization of the SAP/ERP system. Ensure it supports manufacturing operations, financial processes, inventory management, and other critical business functions.
Team Leadership: Manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. Develop clear goals and KPIs for the IT organization and ensure that the strategies and goals are understood by the team implementing the systems and the company overall.
Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, software, and cybersecurity. Ensure reliability, security, and scalability to meet business demands. Identify the need for upgrades and new systems to ensure such costs are reflected in current and future budgets.
Project Management: Lead IT projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align IT projects with Zero Motorcycles’ objectives. Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of new IT systems.
Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Implement cybersecurity measures to protect company data and systems. Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of IT systems and data, implementing best practices and compliance standards.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with business goals. Manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service levels are met.
Required Education/Experience
BS/BA in computer science, information technology, or related field
More than 10 years of experience working in IT operations
More than 5 years supervising technology teams and overseeing large information technology projects
Deep understanding of SAP cloud-based systems (SAP 4/HANA, IBP, SAP Business Network, DM, and PLM) and substantial experience optimizing and managing their operation
Proven experience as a senior IT leader including in the analysis, implementation, and evaluation of business intelligence systems and their specifications.
Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
Prior information technology budget management role

As a continuous learner you can keep up on the latest information technology trends and products
Strong understanding and experience with IT systems in a manufacturing company (past experience with manufacturing execution systems and contract manufacturing partners)
Knowledge of project management principles
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Candidate must be able to sit for long periods of time to perform duties, and to walk around and make inquiries from other staff, management as needed
Must be able to bend or stoop down to access files, including lifting of items or objects up to 50 lbs
The salary range for this position is $250K – $300K depending on location and experience
