Executive VP of Operations
Job Summary:
The Executive VP of Operations (EVP) is second in command to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the execution of the vision and strategy developed by the leadership team. The EVP directs the company’s ongoing operations and procedures, with the goal of securing business functionality to drive extensive and sustainable growth. They will optimize the company’s operating capabilities, employ strategies to maximize client satisfaction, create scale and integration to support our active M&A strategy, and drive change management while continually achieving strong employee satisfaction.
Also known as the “Integrator,” this position brings together the primary business functions (Sales, Operations, Finance and Wholesale) to achieve business objectives, create efficiencies and align goals across the organization. The EVP ensures everyone is rowing together in the same direction by being an example along the way, always working towards the greater good of the business.
Nature and Scope:
This position works under the direction of the CEO with exercise of independent judgement. This position will regularly interact with the leadership team (VP Sales, VP Operations, VP, Finance, President of Wholesale Businesses) and department/line of business leaders to execute strategy and implement corporate level initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Operations Leadership:
- Maintains and directs the daily operations of the business, through coordinating the major business functions of human resources, legal, sales, marketing, finance, IT and all lines of business.
- Leads, manages and holds the leadership team accountable for achieving agreed upon commitments.
- Foster a growth oriented, positive and encouraging environment while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Motivate and encourage employees at all levels as one of the key leaders in the company including but not limited to professional staff, management level employees and executive leadership team members.
- Effectively collaborates with Visionary (CEO) and stays on the same page. Maintains high level of mutual respect with the Visionary. Realizes the unique contributions and ideas that the Visionary has, and possesses an ability to filter and translate those ideas into functional plans for the company.
- Partners with leadership team on short-term and long-term planning in order to reach goals, strengthen culture, and identify areas of agency improvement in alignment with EOS objectives and structure.
- Reduce Costs where possible with effective management of costs to support the CEO in making decisions about the company’s finances and investments.
- Confirms that all key messages are properly and consistently cascaded across the organization. Inherently ensures that everyone is in the know. Verifies that a high level of effective communication exists throughout the organization.
- Resolves issues effectively – seeing real problems, being comfortable with conflict, calling out the problems, and solving the problems in a healthy manner. Ensures the leadership team is healthy, functional and cohesive.
- Drives the strategic development of the firm’s data strategy to integrate disparate systems to achieve business insights, line of sight and other associated efficiencies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred, with a minimum of 10 years of operations management and leadership.
- Requires understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, Marketing, Sales and Information Technology.
- Must have a working knowledge of data analysis, performance/operations metrics, business infrastructure, and Microsoft Office.
- Requires excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, organizational and leadership abilities, and an aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Experience in Insurance and/or financial services is highly desired.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (Flexible)
