Job Description

As Director of ESG at INX you’ll play a crucial role in advancing our commitment to sustainability. Your responsibilities will include refining and implementing strategies to further embed ESG principles across our operations, ensuring compliance with global standards and regulations.

You’ll oversee the measurement and reporting of key ESG performance indicators, promoting transparency and accountability. Keeping a finger on the pulse of emerging ESG trends, you’ll provide guidance to foster continuous improvement at INX.  

To succeed in this role, you should be well-versed in reporting on environmental issues and building relationships across different parts of a company. You know how to handle financial systems, collect data, and manage audits, and you are familiar with ESG reporting guidelines. You have experience planning strategies, and you enjoy helping multiple teams work together toward a common goal.  

Key job responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor performance against corporate ESG goals and roadmap. Regularly benchmark INX’s performance against peers, and against industry trends and best practices.  Look ahead to identify issues, risks, opportunities and trends that may impact INX from an ESG and corporate responsibility perspective.
  • Develop, maintain and execute a regular cadence of ESG reporting, both internal and external, including production of an annual ESG Report, and other reporting products as needed.
  • Develop and maintain an ESG dashboard for functional leaders and the executive team.
  • Draft clear, synthesized and well-supported content for annual reporting.
  • Manage ESG reporting to third parties as appropriate.
  • Anticipate regulatory trends and their implications.
  • Establish adherence to the sustainability laws and regulations that apply to our industry, process, and type of business.
  • Plan, coordinate, review process, and track results for INX’s various ESG efforts.
  • Promote ongoing dialogue with internal and external stakeholders to develop constructive, transparent relationships.  When needed, evaluate and coordinate the use of external consultants.
  • Revise key processes and related criteria/metrics/tools for decisions.
  • Coach decision-makers to manage complex trade-offs.
  • Identify gaps and adopt appropriate educational initiatives for upskilling and/or sourcing the missing capabilities.
  • Share and disseminate knowledge and best practices.  
  • Raise awareness of ESG commitments and progress to INX employees, vendors, customers, and our parent company Sakata.
  • Develop content for the ESG portion of the INX website, working with internal partners to build out and refresh content.
  • Champion cultural change across the entire organization through education.

Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to have:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability Studies or Business, or equivalent work experience.   Master’s or graduate degree in ESG, CSR or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience that includes direct experience with ESG programs in a corporate environment, including working with reporting and ratings frameworks, is required
  • Strong understanding of and experience with reporting standards and frameworks (GRI, EcoVadis, CDP, etc.)
  • Must have experience with project management.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards and trends is required.
  • A deep understanding of audit and internal control practices that support data collection, validation and process integrity.
  • Experience in the printing, packaging, or chemical industry is preferred
  • Advanced skills in writing and report preparation are required
  • Must be available and willing to travel
