Position Summary
The Chief Impact Officer will establish metrics inclusive of those required by various funding sources to evaluate the efficacy of OBT’s program models and lead programmatic shifts via a data-informed process. This process will be reflected in the programming this individual will do within the organization’s Salesforce instance and in the dashboards and reporting created therein. Much of this work will also include ensuring that there is integration across the programs and entire organization. The Chief Impact Officer is ultimately responsible for ensuring that program goals are reached, and the agency’s mission is actualized.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Lead organizational strategic priorities and goals related to program impact, participant-centered programming, and data-informed program development.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive impact strategy aligned with OBT’s mission and long-term objectives.
- Collaborate with the executive team to integrate impact considerations into all aspects of the organization’s operations and decision-making processes.
- Data Management and Analysis:
- Continue the build-out of the agency’s Salesforce instance, ensuring it captures all required data and produces reports that support data-informed program development and decision-making.
- Develop comprehensive dashboards for program and organizational leadership, providing regular insights into performance and impact.
- Establish and maintain robust data collection, analysis, and reporting systems across all programs and initiatives.
- Program Evaluation and Improvement:
- Design and implement program evaluation frameworks to assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and impact of OBT’s programs.
- Lead data-informed program development and refinement processes to continuously improve outcomes for participants.
- Identify gaps in current service offerings and work with key staff to develop new programs or services to address these needs.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Meet reporting needs of the organization’s fundraising partners and other stakeholders.
- Craft impact reports that can be translated into various marketing formats used by the organization.
- Develop and deliver presentations on OBT’s impact to internal and external audiences, including the board of directors, funders, and partners.
- Innovation and Best Practices:
- Stay abreast of the latest research and trends in workforce development, barrier reduction, and program evaluation methodologies.
- Lead the implementation of evidence-based practices and innovative approaches to enhance program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
- Capacity Building:
- Lead internal professional development opportunities related to effective program evaluation and efficient data collection.
- Cultivate a culture of learning and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Partnerships and Representation:
- Represent the organization in key collaborative relationships, including with government agencies, community partners, employers, and advanced training organizations.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships to enhance OBT’s impact and reach.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with funder requirements and regulatory standards across all programs.
- Oversee quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of service delivery and program implementation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- A passionate commitment to OBT’s mission and vision.
- A track record in workforce development program leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in impact measurement, program evaluation, and data-driven decision-making in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Advanced proficiency in data management systems, particularly Salesforce, and data visualization tools.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
- Deep understanding of the workforce development landscape and current trends in poverty reduction strategies.
- Proven ability to think strategically and innovatively to drive organizational growth and impact.
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to data privacy and security.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required. A master’s degree in a related field such as Public Policy, Social Work, Business Administration, or Data Science preferred.
- Certifications in project management, data analysis, or impact measurement preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in program directorship, impact measurement, program evaluation, and/or quality assurance in the nonprofit sector.
- Demonstrated track record of implementing successful impact measurement frameworks and driving data-informed decision-making processes.
- Experience with grant management and reporting to government and private funders.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences, partner meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required for board meetings or special events.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in the fields of impact measurement and nonprofit management.
