Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Effectively manages the day to day business of all Materials areas.
2. Manages budgeting, planning, and financial operations for the Materials departments.
3. Ensures policies are up to date and followed.
4. Ensures there is adequate staffing for optimal operation.
5. Provides evaluations, counseling, and guidance to staff.
6. Assists and coordinates training of staff.
7. Supports the overall Goals of the Medical Center as directed by the Administrative team and Board.
8. Promotes process improvements in the overall Supply Chain operations.
9. Promotes HPG contract compliance for financial efficiencies.
10. Assists and supports various teams a committees including the VAT, Value Analysis Team.
11. Provides direction and assistance for MMIS system maintenance concerning: Item Master (price, locations, vendor, stocking levels); Chargeable items; etc.
12. Reviews all contracts for accuracy.
13. Process all capital purchase requests for approval, places orders, follows up with delivery and/or install.
14. Provides assistance with all day to day operations as needed.
Job Requirements:
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Required. Can be substituted with commensurate experience
Required Work Experience:
Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in hospital materials management or equivalent, in a management role.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
Preferred qualifications:
Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) Membership preferred.
AHRMM Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) Certification preferred.
Functional Demands:
Physical Demands:
1. Walking, Standing, Sitting, & Data Entry.
2. Lifting/carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
3. Occasional climbing of stairs to other levels of the building.
4. Stooping/kneeling/crouching to access supplies.
5. Frequent reaching/handling/fingering to complete paperwork, use the phone, and type on a computers keyboard or adding machine.
Environmental Conditions:
1. Subject to many interruptions.
2. Works inside.
3. Occasional operation of hospital vehicles.
