Director of Supply Chain jdd Direct Hire The Director of Supply Chain serves as a key member of the leadership team, directing the organizations overall supply chain operations, including souring, purchasing and inventory of parts, selection of vendors, negotiation of prices, and management of deliveries. This role involves developing and implementing strategies for the business to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and ensure the timely delivery of products to our customers. ?Duties and Responsibilities: ? Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to supply chain professionals to drive performance and achieve company objectives ? Manage company inventory and restocking levels, forecast inventory and distribution requirements ? Ensure critical processes run effectively and efficiently to achieve organizational goals and performance ? Place vendor purchase orders to meet customer demand and replenish inventory levels ? Follow up and expedite open purchase orders ? Negotiate terms, pricing and delivery with suppliers ? Maximize margins and cost savings ? Develop, evaluate, manage relationships with new and existing suppliers ? Manage qualification of new sources ? Manage performance evaluation of vendors ? Manage inbound shipments with suppliers ? Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as Sales, Quality, Finance, Warehouse to align supply chain activities with company goals ? Foster and grown relationships cross-functionally to influence and lead solution-oriented strategies ? Prepare and present supply chain reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and recommendations for improvement Requirements: ? Positive attitude and attention to detail. ? Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work well under pressure ? Strong business and financial acumen ? Proficient in Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, ERP or other pertinent software JOB DESCRIPTION ? ? Bachelors degree in purchasing & supply chain management, procurement, logistics, or a related field and minimum 10 years related experience ? Previous experience in leading and building a team is required. ? Proven experience in interaction with suppliers is a requirement ? Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, relationship management, and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across different functions and departments ? Must have deep functional experience in supply/demand planning and direct spend category management ? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to lead teams and make data-driven decisions ? Demonstrated ability to develop supplier strategies aimed at the development of a long-term viable supply base Training: ? Initial Training as outlined in the Training Manual ? Annual/Recurrent Training as posted on the Training Log, S3RSFM-100 ? Pentagon Basics ? Export & ITAR compliance ? Human Factors ?
