Description
Boulder County’s Head Start is seeking to hire a Head Start Center Director. The Center Director promotes school readiness of Boulder County Head Start’s children by providing high quality technical assistance, mentoring, coaching and training to the education staff and program. Center Directors supervise classroom staff and work on a variety of teams across the program and within the community.
This is a full time, benefitted position. This position will work Monday- Friday 7:30am-4:30 pm, some evenings and weekends maybe be required. This position will work at least 60% in-person at one of BCHS’s locations in Boulder or Lafayette as per CDHS Child Care Licensing; there will be some flexibility to work remotely. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $60,756.00 – $74,136.00 Annually
Tentative Hiring Timeline:

Examples of Duties
- Technical Support and Services to classroom staff, including but not limited to curriculum development and implementation, coaching and mentoring staff to ensure high quality teaching practices.
- Supervision of all site staff including Kitchen Aides.
- Co-create goals for all direct reports and schedule monthly check ins on these goals and classroom operations.
- Yearly performance evaluations for all direct reports
- Collaborating with full, and site-specific, Integrated Services team to ensure all Head Start Program Performance Standards are met.
- Ensures strong communication throughout the program and site location.
- Ensure site compliance with all CDHS Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned in emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education/special education, family studies, or related field at least three years of professional lead teaching experience in a preschool setting, and two years of supervisory experience
Additional related education may substitute for experience

- Supervisory experience in Early Childhood or Elementary Education

- Current CPR/First Aid certification and Medication Administration
